Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Neutral News mobile application and any related websites, including neutralperspectives.com (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Neutral Perspectives ("we", "us", "our"). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1.Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Neutral News, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2.The Service

Neutral News aggregates publicly available news content from third-party sources and presents it alongside a neutrality indicator and editorial analysis ("Deep Dive"). The Service is provided for informational purposes only. We do not produce, originate, or independently verify the underlying news content, and we make no representation that any article, analysis, or neutrality score is accurate, current, or complete.

The Service is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce advertising, premium features, or other forms of monetization in the future. If we do, we will update these Terms and our Privacy Policy accordingly, and material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice before they take effect.

3.Your Account & Anonymous Use

The Service uses anonymous authentication. You do not create a user account and are not required to provide personal information to use the Service. A per-device identifier is generated to sync your preferences, notification history, and report submissions. You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your device identifier.

4.User Submissions & Reports

The Service lets you submit feedback, bug reports, content flags, and optional screenshots (together, "Submissions"). By making a Submission you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, reproduce, and analyze the Submission for the purposes of operating, improving, and securing the Service. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, harassing, or that contains malware or personal information of third parties without consent.

5.Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service, except to the extent permitted by applicable law;
• Access the Service through automated means, scrape, or resell data obtained from the Service;
• Interfere with, disrupt, or circumvent any security, rate-limiting, or integrity feature of the Service;
• Use the Service to transmit unlawful, abusive, or misleading content;
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.

6.Third-Party Content & Links

Articles, summaries, logos, and source favicons displayed in the Service are owned by their respective publishers. The Service may link to external websites operated by third parties via an in-app browser or an external browser handoff. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, privacy practices, or terms. Your interactions with any third-party source are solely between you and that third party.

7.Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, user interface, design, trademarks, and original editorial commentary, is the property of Neutral Perspectives and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership in the Service to you. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

8.Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that neutrality scores, summaries, or classifications are free from error or bias, nor that any third-party news content accessed through the Service is accurate or current. You rely on the Service at your own risk.

9.Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Neutral Perspectives and its contributors and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, whether based on contract, tort, statute, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed one United States dollar (USD 1.00).

10.Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if termination is required to protect the integrity of the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the application. Sections 4 through 9 and 11 through 13 survive termination.

11.Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the Service at any time, including the introduction of new revenue models such as advertising or premium tiers. We may also revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes — including changes to how the Service is monetized — will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.

12.Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Neutral Perspectives regarding the Service.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction:

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the developer's home jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction in the developer's home jurisdiction.
