Every outlet also has its own audience, its own interests and its own point of view. So the version you read depends on where you read it.
Neutral News brings those versions together. Every story is built from several independent sources and written in plain language. You get the supportive and the critical view on the same page, with a score that shows how balanced the story is.
We are small and independent, and we would rather earn your trust than ask for it.
What the score tells you
The neutrality score shows at a glance how fairly a story is told. A high score means you get more than one side, in calm language, with the context you need. A lower score is your cue to read with care.
The four questions behind every score
Every story we publish is checked against the same four questions.
Is the language fair?
We look for words that pass judgement where a plainer word would do the same job. Strong feelings belong in the quotes of the people involved, not in the reporting.
Is more than one side heard?
We check whether a story rests on a single account of events, or brings in the voices that would complicate it.
Is opinion kept apart from fact?
We flag interpretation written as if it were settled, with nobody named as saying it.
Is the full context there?
We ask whether you would finish the story missing something you need to weigh the claim.
Every story is held to the same standard, so a score means the same thing from one story to the next. An automated process applies it the same way every time. Our editors review every story before it reaches you.

How is the app different from a news aggregator?
An aggregator hands you a pile of headlines. We read across the coverage and write one clear story. The supportive and the critical view sit side by side, with a score on top.
What else can I do in the app?
Follow a story arc to see how an event unfolds over time. Listen to any story. Tap a word to see what it means. Save stories for later and pick the regions you want alerts from.
How do I have my say on a story?
At the end of every story in the app you give your verdict: Agree, Neutral or Disagree. You can change it any time. Our system reads every vote.
Is Neutral News unbiased?
That is the goal, and we work at it every day. Nobody gets it perfect, so we show our working instead. Every story puts the supportive and the critical view side by side, with a score you can check against our standard.
